Atlantic Airways, the national airline of the Faroe Islands, has signed a firm agreement with Airbus to purchase two additional A320neo aircraft as part of its fleet renewal strategy.
According to a statement released by Airbus on October 27, 2026, the order supports the airline’s goal of transitioning to an all-A320neo fleet. Atlantic Airways currently operates four Airbus A320 Family aircraft, consisting of two A320ceo and two A320neo jets.
Atlantic Airways Chairman Niels Mortensen described the new order as a significant step in the airline’s fleet renewal strategy, emphasizing that the investment would improve operational efficiency and streamline maintenance processes.
Airbus also highlighted that the A320neo Family delivers at least 20% fuel savings and a reduction in carbon emissions compared to previous-generation single-aisle aircraft.
